Yordan Alvarez, Kyle Tucker, Jeremy Peña, Michael Brantley and Yuli Gurriel went yard off Eovaldi, who was chased after just 1 2/3 innings -- his shortest start since joining the Red Sox in 2018.

Eovaldi, who entered the game with a very solid 3.15 earned run average, had it balloon all the way to 4.32 by the time the damage was done. The Red Sox had led, 1-0, on a solo homer from Rafael Devers in the bottom of the first.
Boston entered the game at 14-21, winners of four of its last six, but just a half game up on the Baltimore Orioles for fourth place in the American League East.

Peña's home run came in his at-bat at Fenway Park, part of a New England homecoming for the Astros rookie. Peña graduated from Classical High School in Providence and played collegiately at the University of Maine before he was drafted by Houston in the third round of the 2018 MLB Amateur Draft.
