Terry Francona was a guest on WEEI's Big Show this afternoon to wrap up some of the lingering questions surrounding his departure from the Red Sox after managing in Boston for eight years.

"A lot's happened in eight years and a lot's happened in a week," he said. "I've tried to sit back and look at everything, try to gain some perspective, try to look at myself, what I could've done better. It's not the easiest time to do that."

Throughout the interview, he continuously heaped himself for his team's historic September collapse.

"I had a responsibility to get something done and it didnt get done," Francona said. "I have to wear that. Certainly it hurts."

He did admit that this year's team was different from year's past because players were more concerned with individual performances than they were concerned about the team's slide.

"I felt a little different this year that the personal goals were outweighing some of the team goals," he said. "That falls on me, I was distraught that I wasn't able to change that."
