Marwin Gonzalez has found a new home not long after being released by the Boston Red Sox.

The veteran utility man signed a minor league contract with the Houston Astros on Friday, the team announced in a statement.

Gonzalez spent his first seven MLB seasons (2012-18) with the Astros, helping them to a World Series championship in 2017. The 32-year-old hit .264 with 76 home runs, 292 RBI and a .737 OPS in 795 games during his tenure in Houston.

With the Red Sox, Gonzalez hit just .202 with two home runs and 20 RBI in 77 games. He signed a one-year deal worth $3 million during the offseason.

Gonzalez joins an Astros club currently leading the American League West by 5 1/2 games over the Oakland Athletics.
