Merloni: Dombrowski addition a ‘great move' for Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox made a splash on Tuesday when they named Dave Dombrowski president of baseball operations and parted ways with general manager Ben Cherington.

Lou Merloni thinks it's a "great move" for the Red Sox organization as they turn the page on the 2015 season.

"When you look at his history he does a great job evaluating his own organization, which is something this organization just really doesn't do well," said Merloni. "They let guys come to the big leagues, they let them get exposed and now their trade value is nothing.

"Dombrowski, look at his history, he gets rid of guys. He looks at who the real prospects are and who they aren't."
