Nobody in MLB has swung a hotter bat than Rafael Devers over the last week, and the Red Sox third baseman is being recognized for his efforts.
Devers was named the American League Player of the Week on Monday after posting a ridiculous slash line of .593/.633/1.185 with 16 hits, seven doubles, three home runs, and 11 RBI over six games played.
Arizona Diamondbacks shortstop Nick Ahmed earned NL Player of the Week honors.
Devers' hot streak is just a continuation of what Red Sox fans have witnessed all season long. The 22-year-old is hitting .332 (third-best batting average in AL) with 27 homers and a league-leading 101 RBI.
He'll look to continue his torrid stretch on Tuesday when the Red Sox begin a quick two-game set vs. the Phillies at Fenway Park.
