The random Boston-related connection to Allen Iverson's practice rant

On May 7, 2002, Allen Iverson went on one of the most iconic rants in the history of sports.

After being questioned about his dedication to practice, Iverson went off at the press conference he was giving. He communicated that he was giving it his all every game on the floor. He also said that it was "silly" that they were even talking about practice.

You can see a snippet of the rant via NBC Sports Philadelphia.

But watch the video again. Look closer at Iverson while he's giving the rant. Do you see the Boston-related connection to this rant? NBC Sports Boston's Twitter account pointed it out earlier today.

Yes, that's right. Iverson was wearing a Boston Red Sox hat. It's unclear why that was the case. But yes, the star of the Philadelphia 76ers, a long-time divisional rival of the Boston Celtics, was wearing a Red Sox hat.

The hat has been pointed out before. And Reebok even turned it into a sneaker to honor the "practice" rant four years ago. It's certainly an interesting note to tack onto the already legendary rant that Iverson gave.
