Bucks, other NBA teams boycott games after Jacob Blake shooting

In the wake of the shooting of Jacob Blake by a police officer in Kenosha, Wis., the Milwaukee Bucks opted to boycott their Game 5 matchup vs. the Orlando Magic on Wednesday.

The Bucks did not show up on the court for Game 5, and the Magic left the court shortly before the scheduled 4 p.m. tip-off time.

The Magic are not accepting the Bucks' forfeit, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

A number of figures across the NBA have spoken out against the ongoing issues of social injustice and police brutality since the murder of George Floyd. The shooting of Blake on Sunday prompted several teams, including the Celtics and Raptors, to consider sending a message by boycotting their upcoming playoff games.

The Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers, and Portland Trail Blazers had also been scheduled to play Wednesday night, but Charania reports those teams will follow Milwaukee's lead:
