The historic rivalry between the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers will extend to the 2024 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas in July.
The Lakers, who made headlines by selecting Bronny James -- son of superstar forward LeBron James -- with the No. 55 overall pick in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft, are one of the first four opponents for the Celtics on their summer league schedule.
The Celtics-Lakers summer league clash is scheduled for Monday, July 15.

The summer league is often the first opportunity for fans to see their team's recent draft picks in game action. The Celtics' 2024 summer league roster will include Boston's two 2024 selections -- Baylor Scheierman (first round, No. 30) and Anton Watson (second round, No. 54) -- as well as 2023 second-round pick Jordan Walsh.
All summer league games take place at the Thomas & Mack Center and Pavilion on the campus of the University of Nevada.
What is the Celtics' 2024 NBA Summer League schedule?
Here are Boston's four scheduled Summer League games:
- Saturday, July 13: Celtics vs. Heat at 6:30 p.m. ET
- Monday, July 15: Celtics vs. Lakers at 10:30 p.m. ET
- Wednesday, July 17: Celtics vs. Hornets at 5:30 p.m. ET
- Friday, July 19: Celtics vs. Mavericks at 4:30 p.m. ET
Where can I watch the Celtics' Summer League games?
All four of the Summer League games above will be broadcast on NBC Sports Boston for those in the Boston TV market.
For those outside the Boston TV market, the first three games also will be broadcast on NBA TV, while Celtics-Mavs will be broadcast on ESPNU.
How do the Summer League playoffs work?
According to the league, the top four overall teams after the first four games will qualify for the playoffs, which begin with a semifinal doubleheader on Sunday, July 21 at 2 p.m. ET and 4 p.m. ET on ESPN.
The two winning teams from the semifinal games will meet in the championship game on Monday, July 22 at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN.
