The NBA offseason is underway after the Boston Celtics finished off the Dallas Mavericks in the 2024 NBA Finals to clinch their 18th championship.
Of course, it will take a bit longer for the C's to switch into offseason mode. Their celebration continued Friday with a championship parade through the streets of Boston, and players likely will continue to enjoy Banner 18 for a few more weeks.
In the front office, though, it's drawing board for president of basketball operations Brad Stevens and his Celtics staff. Their offseason duties begin Wednesday with the 2024 NBA Draft and continue when free agency opens just days later.

Derrick White and Jayson Tatum extension windows: Now to end of offseason
White and Tatum are currently scheduled to become free agents in 2025. A $315 million supermax extension for Tatum feels inevitable, and it also seems like a foregone conclusion that White will be locked up long-term.
Both players immediately became extension-eligible after the NBA Finals and will be able to sign a new deal any time before the 2024-25 NBA season begins.
NBA Draft: June 26 and 27
The Celtics own the 30th and 54th overall picks in the 2024 draft, with Round 1 set for June 26 and Round 2 on June 27.
Qualifying option deadline for two-way players: June 29
Neemias Queta's two-way contract was promoted to a full-time deal earlier this year, but JD Davison and Drew Peterson are both eligible for qualifying offers. The Celtics will need to decide by June 29 whether to retain both players.
Team option deadline for Sam Hauser, Neemias Queta: June 29
Hauser's $2.1 million team option for 2024-25 is a steal for a player who was in the rotation for a championship team. But the Celtics still could decide to give Hauser a long-term extension to prevent him from leaving after the 2024-25 season. If so, they'd need to make that decision before June 29.
Picking up Queta's $2.2 million team option would be a logical move for Boston given the team's need for frontcourt depth.
NBA free agency negotiating window opens: June 30 at 6 p.m. ET
Boston has only three impending unrestricted free agents: Luke Kornet, Xavier Tillman Sr., and Svi Mykhailuk. Finding a versatile big man will be on Brad Stevens' to-do list this summer.
NBA free agency officially begins: July 6 at 12:01 p.m. ET
The Celtics can make their signings official after noon ET on July 6.
Summer League: July 12 to 22
Jordan Walsh and JD Davison starred for last year's Summer League C's. Boston went 2-3 in Vegas.
Paris Olympics: July 27 to Aug. 11
Jayson Tatum and Jrue Holiday will represent the Celtics on the 2024 USA men's basketball team. Derrick White is reportedly a strong candidate to replace Kawhi Leonard on the roster.
