Celtics Talk Podcast: Jerome Allen on his new book and Brad Stevens spitting ’90s rap lyrics

Brad Stevens has been the head coach of the Boston Celtics for seven years, but apparently, there's still plenty we don't know about him.

In fact, C's assistant coach Jerome Allen learned something new about Stevens during the team's time in the NBA's Orlando bubble. On a brand new Celtics Talk Podcast, Allen told hosts Chris Forsberg and Kyle Draper a great story about Stevens' previously unknown affinity for 90's hip hop music.

"The funniest thing is in the bubble, right before tip one game I think it was against the Wizards, the DJ is playing as the guys are walking out onto the floor. I think he was playing 'Poison' by Bell Biv DeVoe and then he mixes in Rob Base's 'It Takes Two.'

"The start of the song, it comes to the break and says 'Hit it!' As Rob Base is starting to sing the lyrics, Brad is singing the lyrics to the song with a straight face. He's like, 'I wanna rock right now, I'm Rob Base and I came to get down.' I bust out laughing. He says, 'What you laughing at?' I said, 'Yo, nobody in the world would believe that you was flowing right now. 'He's like, 'What you talking about? It's '90s hip hop. This DJ is pretty good, isn't he?'"
