Ex-Cavs GM Griffin: Celtics on Kyrie Irving's list of preferred teams

Share

Recently dismissed Cavaliers general manager David Griffin thinks that Kyrie Irving is going to be traded this offseason. Going by his comments on ESPN’s “The Jump” Monday, it seems he thinks that trade could be to Boston.

Per a transcription by Yahoo! Sports’ Ben Rohrbach, Griffin said that Irving has a list of teams to which he’d like to be traded. In both mentions of that list, Griffin referred to the Celtics and Spurs.

Irving, 25, is entering the third year of a five-year, $90 million contract. If the Celtics were to swing a trade for him, it would likely signal the end of Isaiah Thomas’ time with the C’s.
