The Boston Celtics earned their fifth straight victory Friday night as they took down the shorthanded Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center.

Jaylen Brown was the star with 40 points on 17-of-20 shooting. The entire C's starting lineup scored in double figures, and Payton Pritchard contributed 15 points off the bench.

The Lakers were without LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Andre Drummond for the matchup. Talen Horton-Tucker led L.A. in the scoring column with 19 points.
