Jaylen Brown explains his scuffle with Gogo Bitadze, and the technical foul he received after the referees missed an offensive foul call.

Things got chippy in the second half of Sunday's Boston Celtics-Indiana Pacers matchup, and Jaylen Brown was at the center of it all.

The Celtics wing received a technical foul after taking exception to Giga Bitadze knocking him down in the paint. Brown shoved the Pacers big man in retaliation and berated the officials for not calling an offensive foul on Bitadze.

He shared his side of the story after the game.

Celtics-Pacers takeaways: Threes bury C's in blowout loss

"I mean, they missed the call," Brown said. "It was pretty obvious. They even said it after the game. They watched it and reviewed it, it was an offensive foul. That's a big dude and I feel like he was trying to put something behind that, trying to send a message, so that's why I was upset. You can't miss a call like that. Officiating got me that tech. ...

"You can't let a play like that go. That's where my frustration was. You can't miss that. That's how stuff gets escalated. You can't let somebody get away with that."

It was a frustrating game all around for the C's, who allowed Indiana to shoot 51.5% (17-for-33) from 3-point range. That led to a 128-107 loss that marked the most points they've let up in a game since Dec. 3, when the Utah Jazz dropped 137.

Other than the tech, Brown was one of the few bright spots for Boston. The 25-year-old finished with 23 points on 10-for-16 shooting and a team-high eight assists.

The Celtics will head back home to take on the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Boston.
