The past few weeks, millions have tuned in to ESPN's "The Last Dance" docuseries covering the legendary career of Michael Jordan.
Episode 5 of the series delved into Jordan signing a shoe deal with Nike, which immediately made Air Jordans the most desired basketball sneaker on the market. Years later, Jordan Brand is worth well over $1 billion and includes some of the most prestigious athletes in the world.
One of those athletes is Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum, who signed a multi-year shoe deal with Jordan Brand last year. For Tatum, getting the call to join the Jordan Brand family was a surreal experience.

"It was like a dream come true," Tatum told Sage Steele on "The Encore". "The cool part I tell a lot of people about coming to the Jordan Brand family is nobody comes over without, you know, Michael Jordan has the last say. So for him to give you the last stamp and to say that he wants you to be part of the family is the ultimate sort of acceptance."

Since joining Jordan Brand, Tatum has taken another step toward superstardom. Before the NBA season was halted due to COVID-19, Tatum was averaging 23.6 points and 7.1 rebounds per game.
