BOSTON -- The roster isn’t quite at full strength, but the Boston Celtics are clearly trending in the right direction on the health front as they welcome back a pair of starters for tonight’s game against the Brooklyn Nets.
Kyrie Irving (right eye irritation) and Marcus Morris (neck strain) are both back with the first unit after missing games due to injury.
Boston’s starting five now looks like Irving and Marcus Smart in the backcourt with Morris, Jayson Tatum and Al Horford in the frontcourt.
Irving is the Celtics’ leading scorer at 23.1 points per game in addition to 6.6 assists and 4.9 rebounds.
Morris averages a career-best 15.4 points along with 6.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. In addition, Morris has an offensive rating of 120.9 as a starter which is tops among all players in the NBA with at least 15 starts this season.
