Stevens gives his trampoline dunk a 10

BOSTON - It's a bird! . . . It's a plane! . . . It's Brad Stevens?

That was the case over the weekend as Stevens took flight on the Celtics practice facility court . . . with a little help from Lucky the Leprechaun's trampoline.

You've probably seen the video by now. If not, hit the link right here.

On Monday, Stevens was asked about the dunk at the very first chance reporters could get.

“Actually, I was there just rebounding for Brady yesterday for a little bit," Stevens said. "Brady’s my 10-year-old, and I just looked down the side of the court, and they had those trampolines set up. I thought that would be fun, so I asked Lucky how to do it. I did ask that nobody tape it but obviously that got lost in translation. It’s proof I need to communicate a little bit better, but luckily the few tries before that didn’t make it on the web because it wasn’t quite as pretty.”

Stevens probably would have been called for a travel before the dunk attempt, as he didn't dribble (then again, it's the NBA . . .), but soared through the air for the one-handed jam.

His grade?

“Hey, it went in," Stevens said. "Brady would give me a 10 so I’m in. A dunk for me is pretty unusual so I enjoyed it. It was fun.”

Just how unusual? Well, Stevens admits he's never really, truthfully, technically dunked a basketball before.

“Did I ever dunk for real? Nah, not with – no," he said to some laughs. "Everybody that’s played says they’ve dunked and they have at some point but it’s with a flat ball and a 9-foot-5 rim, and different – I’ve done that.”
