Curran: Patriots are ‘beat up and tired'

Looking at the statistics and the records before today's game between the Patriots and Jaguars, you would figure the Patriots would roll. But after watching the Patriots offense sputter against the Jaguars for much of the game, eking out a 23-16 win over one of the worst teams in football, you would realize that you figured wrong.

Patriots Insider Tom E. Curran and Mike Giardi broke down what they think went wrong on Sunday for the Pats. Essentially it came down to two things: 1) a letdown after two back-to-back primetime games against elite opponents, and 2) injuries.

"I think a lot of guys are beat up and tired right now," Curran said simply.

Alfonzo Dennard was out today, and fellow corner Aqib Talib was not a full strength. Aaron Hernandez still doesn't look like himself and Rob Gronkowski was obviously still out recovering from surgery to repair a broken arm.
