Mental health has become an increasingly visible issue in the world of sports. Athletes are often seen as strong and tough-minded individuals; but – much like the rest of the world - they too suffer from mental and emotional challenges.
HEADSTRONG: Mental Health and Sports is a full-length documentary that explores the stigma around mental health and hopes to shed light on the need for athletes, and everyone, to admit that struggles with emotional and mental issues are part of life. As sports figures are willing to talk about this important issue, it is easier for the general public to do so as well – and – more importantly – to seek help.
