Rex Burkhead gave one of his best performances as a New England Patriots player in Sunday's 36-20 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, and he accomplished a rare feat in the process.
The veteran running back ran for 49 yards (8.2 per carry) and two rushing touchdowns, while also tallying seven receptions for 49 yards and a receiving touchdown in the Week 3 matchup. Burkhead's seven catches were more than twice as many as any of his teammates.

The 30-year-old veteran also made team history by becoming just the third Patriots player -- and the first since 1975 -- to rush for multiple touchdowns and also catch a touchdown in the same game.

One of the most impressive facets of the New England ground game is its depth. Seven players had at least one carry Sunday, and three of them went over 40 yards rushing. Sony Michel had easily his best game of the season with 117 rushing yards on just nine attempts.
Burkhead isn't likely to be the Patriots' leading rusher or receiver in many weeks, but you can depend on the veteran running back to be productive with however many opportunities he does receive.
