Malcolm Mitchell's NFL career has been derailed by injury and surgeries, but the former New England Patriots wide receiver is determined to make it back on the field and resume playing.

ESPN's Mike Reiss caught up with Mitchell this week in Atlanta, the site of Sunday's Super Bowl LIII matchup between the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams. Mitchell told Reiss he still plans on making an NFL comeback.

Mitchell played well for the Patriots during his rookie season in 2016. He even played a key role in the team's dramatic Super Bowl LI victory over the Atlanta Falcons with six receptions for 70 yards, including five receptions for 63 yards in the second half.

He missed the entire 2017 season because of a knee injury and was released by the Patriots in August of last year. He was a fourth-round pick of the Patriots in the 2016 NFL Draft.
