How serious is Zach Wilson's knee injury? Here's the latest update

It ain't easy being a rookie quarterback on the New York Jets.

Zach Wilson lasted just over one quarter in Sunday's game against the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium before exiting with what looked like a painful right knee injury when pass rusher Matthew Judon landed on his leg.

Patriots-Jets takeaways: Offense is building impressive momentum

Wilson was ruled out for the remainder of the contest and confirmed he'll have an MRI on the knee Monday. According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, it's a PCL injury that likely will cause Wilson to miss some time.

UPDATE (Monday, Oct. 25, 10:05 a.m. ET): Wilson is expected to miss two to four weeks with a PCL sprain, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The 22-year-old offered a less-than-encouraging update on his knee after the game.

"(Judon) kind of fell on it with all his weight," Wilson said. "It kind of felt like it twisted and heard a pop in there. Obviously thinking of the worst scenario in my head, which sucks. But making sure it's going to be all right, hopefully."

Wilson leads the NFL in interceptions with nine but has tons of upside if the Jets can keep him upright and build a stable offense around him. That obviously hasn't happened yet, though, and Wilson paid the price Sunday with his first major injury at the NFL level.

Backup Mike White took over for Wilson against New England but was no match for the Patriots, who intercepted him twice en route to a 54-13 blowout win.
