The New England Patriots will try to keep their unbeaten record intact Sunday when they play the Washington Redskins on the road in Week 5.
The last time the Patriots played at FedEx Field was in 2011, when tight end Rob Gronkowski had one of the best games (and an iconic catch) of his career in a New England victory.
This year's Redskins are in turmoil. Washington has an 0-4 record and the second-worst scoring differential in the NFL. The Redskins' quarterback situation also is a mess because of injuries and lackluster performances. Veteran quarterback Colt McCoy will start and make his season debut against the Patriots after recovering from a leg injury. McCoy, as a member of the Cleveland Browns, beat the Patriots in his only career start against them in 2010.
Oddsmakers are expecting a Patriots blowout Sunday. The spread has the Patriots favored by 16 points. New England has failed to cover the spread in each of its last two games despite owning a 4-0 record overall.
The Patriots also won't have tight end Benjamin Watson in Week 5 despite his 4-game suspension having concluded. He did not make the trip to Washington, which means Ryan Izzo and Matt LaCosse will serve as the tight ends against the Redskins.
