Another wide receiver option is off the board for the New England Patriots.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling, a rumored target for the Patriots in free agency, reportedly is joining the Kansas City Chiefs. It's a three-year deal worth up to $36 million for the ex-Green Bay Packers wideout, per NFL Media's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero.

Valdes-Scantling caught 26 passes for 430 yards (16.5 yards per catch) and three touchdowns in 11 games last season. The downfield threat hit 22.09 mph on a 75-yard TD grab last year vs. the Minnesota VIkings and in 2020, he led the league with 20.9 yards per reception. With Tyreek Hill headed to Miami, Valdes-Scantling steps into his role as the speedy wideout on the outside.

As of Thursday, the Patriots' wide receiver depth chart features Kendrick Bourne, Nelson Agholor, and Jakobi Meyers. With options dwindling in free agency, it's increasingly likely the organization will address the position in the upcoming NFL Draft.
