Rob Gronkowski's latest post-NFL venture is a sports game show on CBS

When Rob Gronkowski said he had a lot of irons in the fire following his NFL retirement, he wasn't kidding.

The former New England Patriots tight end, who already has partnered with a CBD company and landed an analyst gig at "NFL on FOX," has another venture on his plate: He's starring in a game show.

The show, called "GAME ON!", will air on CBS and is based on the British game show "A League of Their Own."

Actor and writer Keegan-Michael Key will host the show, with Gronkowski and tennis legend Venus Williams serving as captains for two teams of three that will feature comedians Bobby Lee and Ian Karmel and "a rotating mix of sports stars, comedians and celebrities," per CBS.

What will this cast of characters do? The show description sounds right up Gronk's alley. From CBS:

Teams will go head to head in over-the-top physical challenges, from seeing who can dunk the most basketballs over a tank of water while harnessed on a bungee cord, to taking on a sumo wrestler in the ring.

The teams also will field sports-related trivia questions, with Gronkowski and Williams duking it out for game show supremacy.

We've seen other NFL athletes retire to take TV jobs only to be drawn back to the field, most notably Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten.

But Gronkowski's transformation from tight end to pitchman/TV analyst/game show star seems a bit more complete.

Patriots' ineptitude at every level signals need for greater urgency

CBS didn't say when the show will air, but assuming it's sometime this fall, we're guessing Gronkowski won't be quitting his (latest) job to return to the Patriots.
