This Pats player was selected to PFWA All-Rookie team after great 2020 season

The New England Patriots selected a few good players in the 2020 NFL Draft, but one of them stood above the rest as a key contributor this past season.

That player is Michael Onwenu, who the Patriots took in the sixth round with the 182nd overall pick in the draft.

The University of Michigan product quickly became a valuable and reliable offensive lineman for the Patriots. Onwenu played and started all 16 games, while showing impressive versatility by playing snaps at guard and tackle positions.

The Patriots offensive line could look a lot different next season. Starting center David Andrews and starting left guard Joe Thuney are both free agents. Right tackle Marcus Cannon was one of the team's eight COVID-19 opt outs, and he has not yet officially returned to the team.

Onwenu could be one of the strengths of the offensive line for a long time. He's talented, versatile and durable -- three of the most important qualities for any football player.
