Todd Gurley: Hopefully Sony Michel plays how he did before I taught him everything

Todd Gurley hopes the student doesn't become the master Feb. 3 when the Rams and Patriots face off in Super Bowl LIII.

Gurley, who was teammates on Georgia with both Michel and Browns running back Nick Chubb in 2014, says he mentored the Pats rookie running back. Apparently, Michel wasn't all that impressive to the Rams' star rusher.

“I remember when he first came in, he couldn’t run and catch,” Gurley said. “I had to teach him how to do all that stuff.”

Gurley joked that he taught Michel everything he knows, and he hopes he won't regret that come Sunday.

“Hopefully everything I taught him, he doesn’t do it and he just plays like he used to play before I taught him everything,” Gurley said.

Gurley might be in for a rude awakening. Michel is coming off two straight impressive playoff performances, rushing for 129 yards and three touchdowns against the Chargers and then 113 yards and two TDs vs the Chiefs.
