DraftKings made an announcement Wednesday that may have caught the eye of Tom Brady supporters.
The Boston-based daily fantasy sports and sports betting company revealed that Brady's wife, Gisele Bundchen, is joining DraftKings as a special advisor to the CEO and Board for ESG Initiatives.
Bundchen's role won't be sports-related, however: The former supermodel and environmental activist will help DraftKings with its "environmental and social objectives," one of which is a daily fantasy sports contest for charity with the goal of raising money to plant 1 million trees by Earth Day 2022.

Patriots Talk Podcast: A deep dive into Bill Belichick's draft strategy | Listen & Subscribe | Watch on YouTube"I believe that the strategic counsel and unique global perspective that Gisele brings to me and the board will be indispensable and, as evidenced by our Earth Day campaign, her impact will be immediate and far-reaching," DraftKings CEO Jason Robins said in a statement Wednesday.
DraftKings also will benefit from Gisele's immense public platform: The Brazil native has 17 million Instagram followers and 4.6 million Twitter followers, dwarfing the audience of her former New England Patriots quarterback husband, who *only* has 9.5 million Instagram followers and 1.9 million Twitter followers.
"It is very important for successful corporations to make the necessary shifts in ESG initiatives to truly make a difference on a global level," Gisele said Wednesday in a statement.
"In today’s world, in my opinion, it isn’t enough for companies to just be successful financially. Companies have to be successful in ALL areas, including social impact and sustainability initiatives that impact the future for all of us around the world."
