Willie McGinest on Patriots cheating accusations: ‘Excuses are for losers'

Willie McGinest doesn't want to hear any excuses.

The former Patriots linebacker won three Super Bowls in New England, including the controversial Super Bowl XXXVI which was clouded by the Spygate controversy. Seventeen years later, McGinest remains sick and tired of the Patriots being labeled as cheaters.

On the latest edition of The Michael Holley Podcast presented by Night Shift Brewing, McGinest had a message for those who use past cheating allegations to diminish the Patriots dynasty.

"The Patriots are in their ninth Super Bowl," McGinest said. "If cameras and everything won games I think a lot of other teams would be doing it. I mean, excuses are for losers. Like, I never make excuses. When I lose, I lose. Whether you saw what we were doing or whatever, we'll figure it out, we'll make adjustments. And, you know, I think it's disrespectful for all the men in that locker room who suited up, and worked their ass off, and worked hard, and went in and executed a gameplan to the T. To have somebody complain after the loss and say, "oh, well they have had this or they may have did that,' like, to me, you're crying about a loss or whatever. You could have affected the game during the game."

"And here's the thing for me," McGinest added. "If you give me the answers to the test, it's not gonna be by a field goal. We're gonna beat your ass by like 30 points. It's not even going to be that close."
