Bruins add Tommy Wingels from Blackhawks

Though the Bruins' biggest move came on Sunday with the Rick Nash acquisition, they did make a trade for depth on deadline day.

Boston added veteran forward Tommy Wingels from the Blackhawks in exchange for a conditional fifth-round pick in the 2019 draft. The pick becomes a fourth-rounder if the B's win a round or re-sign Wingels, who will be an unrestricted free agent at season's end.

Wingels, 29, is a bottom-six forward and penalty killer. He played the first several years with the Sharks before being traded to the Senators last season. He signed a one-year deal with the Blackhawks for this season and had seven goals and five assists for 12 points in 57 games prior to Monday's trade.
