Boston Bruins forward David Pastrnak continued his excellent 2018-19 season on New Year's Day when he scored a goal and added an assist in a 4-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2019 Winter Classic at Notre Dame Stadium.
The 22-year-old winger also reached an impressive milestone. He has tallied 50 points in 40 games, and no B's player has hit that mark faster since Marc Savard more than a decade ago.
Pastrnak leads the Bruins in goals (24) and scoring (50 points), and he also ranks tied for fourth place in goals scored in the NHL overall.
He has a realistic chance to become the Bruins' first 50-goal scorer since Cam Neely did it during the 1993-94 campaign. Pastrnak could reach 100 points, too, and no Bruin has done that over a full season with the team since Joe Thornton in 2002-03.
Pastrnak is one of the league's best players, and he certainly showed that Tuesday on the league's most grand regular-season stage.
