Leveling the playing field? Vladimir Tarasenko out for Blues vs. Bruins

The Boston Bruins most likely will be without David Krejci Saturday due to an upper-body injury, but the St. Louis Blues also will be without a key member of their lineup.

Vladimir Tarasenko sustained an upper-body injury Thursday in St. Louis' game against the Los Angeles Kings and is not traveling with the team to Boston, according to the Blues.

The 27-year-old is second on the Blues with 10 points (three goals, seven assists) through the team's first 10 games of the season, trailing Brayden Schenn by only a point. Tarasenko played a major role in the Blues' 2019 Stanley Cup victory, tallying three goals and one assist through seven games against the Bruins in the Stanley Cup Final. He notched 17 points (11 goals, six assists) through 26 total playoff games.

With Tarasenko out, the Blues will look a bit different from the last time the B's saw them in June. Patrick Maroon joined the Tampa Bay Lightning on a one-year deal and Joel Edmundson was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes for Justin Faulk. Outside of those changes, though, St. Louis will roll out a similar lineup to the squad that beat Boston in June

The B's host the Blues on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET before heading to New York to face the Rangers Sunday.
