Jeremy Swayman talks with the media after agreeing to an 8-year, $66 million contract extension with the Bruins.

What to Know

  • The Bruins have lost their season opener for the first time since the 2018-19 campaign.
  • The Panthers dominated offensively with six goals, 35 shots and 42 scoring chances.
  • Joonas Korpisalo made his Bruins debut in net and allowed six goals on 35 shots.
  • The Bruins penalty kill was one of the few bright spots. This unit went 6-for-6.
  • The B's will be back in action Thursday night for their home opener against the Canadiens.

The Florida Panthers continue to show they are the Boston Bruins' kryptonite.

They raised their 2024 Stanley Cup banner to the rafters at Amerant Bank Arena before puck drop and then beat the Bruins 6-4 on Tuesday night. Florida opened the scoring in the first period and never looked back. Boston trailed by multiple goals most of the game and at one point faced a 5-1 deficit in the secod period.
